About
THE FINANCIAL COMPASS

My Story
I didn’t grow up knowing how money worked. Like many people, I learned through real-world experience—by making mistakes, adjusting, and asking the questions others were afraid to ask.
While serving in the U.S. Navy, I was stationed in London. That’s where I met my wife, Zenaye, who was studying at university. When my service ended, I returned to the United States to complete my degree—and after we married, I moved back to London without a job waiting, because we were committed to building our future together. Zenaye had just started her first professional job, and I arrived with no employment lined up—so we leaned on strategy, discipline, and living below our means, choosing long-term stability over short-term comfort.
Years later, we made another major leap—moving to New York City with no jobs waiting again. But we had a plan, we prepared, and we executed. Those experiences taught me something I’ll never forget: financial confidence creates options, and financial literacy creates freedom.
After living, working, and traveling in more than 15 countries, I saw the same problem everywhere—people struggle with money not because they lack ability, but because they lack access to clear financial education. That’s why I wrote Your Blueprint for Financial Literacy: a simple, practical roadmap to help people take control of their finances with clarity and confidence. I don’t teach theory—I teach what I lived.
